Crossword Puzzle TournamentThe Library is planning a crossword puzzle contest/tournament to be held in March. There are ways you could help. We need scorers, runners, registration takers, and participants. In addition, help with planning before the event and then a few hours on a Sunday afternoon could be fun!
If this sounds like something you would be interested in being a part of here is your chance. This contest/tournament is not affiliated with the national crossword puzzle tournament known as The American Crossword Puzzle Tournament, which is organized by Will Shortz of the New York Times. (Though Mr. Shortz has graciously offered to supply unused puzzles for us to use.) It is planned to be a fun, interactive event to be held in the spring at the New Castle Library, located at 5th and Delaware Streets in New Castle. Planning is underway but we still have much to do. We want to gage interest so I am asking for your support. We will be making more decisions soon and would like to know that there is sufficient interest; both as helpers and puzzle solvers. All skill levels are strongly encouraged. Also, if you know of someone that enjoys doing crossword puzzles and would like to participate in the fun, please have them contact Julie Kirk at the New Castle Public Library Julie.Kirk@lib.de.us or Mary Fontinha at maryfo52@yahoo.com. |
